SAN DIEGO: HOMELESS TEENS RECEIVE NEW CAREER-INSPIRED WARDROBES

GLAM4GOOD headed to San Diego, California, to hold a #GLAM4GOOD career-inspired pop up at one of the country’s most exceptional schools for youth impacted by homelessness, The Monarch School. Over one hundred students at Monarch in the 11th and 12th grades were invited to participate in a special GLAM4GOOD X VSP #SHOPPINGSPREE4FREE to receive critical wardrobe aid to empower upcoming job interviews, internships and college interviews.

Job and interview appropriate clothing are a powerful tool students use to help themselves achieve a brighter future. Yet, the homeless youth that attend this school are at a disadvantage because they can’t afford clothing and accessories which impairs their self-esteem, courage, and dignity. We want them to feel great about how they are presenting themselves as they head to work, internships and college.

“This means so much to us. This gives us a chance to feel better.”

“GLAM4GOOD knows we are struggling and wants to give us a brighter future.”

The students were able to choose career-inspired clothing, accessories, and personal care essentials. The #GLAM4GOOD pop up gave Monarch’s deserving teens an opportunity shop for interview and job appropriate fashion and accessories from dozens of designer brands, as well as receive skincare, grooming essentials, beauty products, and eye care and eyewear from our corporate partner VSP Eyes of Hope – all completely free of charge.
