NEW YORK, NY — Monday May 4, 2020 – In early March, as Covid-19 was becoming a global pandemic and beginning to hit New York City, the GLAM4GOOD Foundation, an award-winning fashion and beauty based non-profit organization, sprang into action to launch it’s COVID-19 Critical Aid Initiative. Addressing the urgent need to provide critical aid to healthcare workers, vulnerable youth and families in need, in seven weeks GLAM4GOOD secured and continues to deliver over 375,000 items of PPE, personal care essentials, clothing and learning tools valued at over 4 million to partner organizations and recipients nationwide.
Founder Mary Alice Stephenson explains, “At the onslaught of this pandemic, we knew we needed to act quickly and do whatever we could to help our partners and recipients. Empowering dignity, honoring courage, addressing critical needs, inspiring hope and igniting joy…. this is what GLAM4GOOD did before this pandemic, it is what we are doing now, and it is what GLAM4GOOD will continue to do long after Covid-19 is gone.” She continues, “In the last seven weeks, over 40 of the fashion and beauty industry’s most philanthropic brands have contributed to support this GLAM4GOOD initiative, which has brought critical aid to people in need on the frontlines nationwide.”
GLAM4GOOD galvanized leading businesses to donate product and personal care essentials geared towards improving the health, well-being and living or working conditions of its recipients. Donations were secured and delivered by some fashion, lifestyle and beauty’s biggest brands including H&M, Ulta Beauty, Chapstick, Hanes, Lush, Prescriptives, Stella & Dot, Bravo Sierra, Tata Harper Skincare, Melissa & Doug, USAopoly and more.
PPE and personal care essentials via GLAM4GOOD’s #SELFCARE 4 #HEALTHCARE bags have been distributed to some of the hardest hit hospitals including New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist in New York, San Jorge Children’s Hospital in Puerto Rico to Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, and to 258 residents working around-the-clock at hospitals across New York City from NYU Langone Health. Additionally, GLAM4GOOD sent thousands of personal hygiene essentials, clothing and learning tools to organizations including the HELP USA, Boys & Girls Club in Chicago and Detroit, New York Administration of Child Services, Cobble Hill Health Center nursing home, Paradise Unified School District in Paradise, California and more.

With many healthcare heroes working around the clock since March, GLAM4GOOD’s partners at various hospitals reached out for support telling GLAM4GOOD that their nurses and doctor’s hands, faces, and lips were cracked and bleeding from wearing PPE all hours of the day. “Covid-19 has devastated our community and challenged our staff. Being able to distribute GLAM4GOOD’s self care bags throughout our hospital has boosted morale, and helped provide our team with much needed personal care essentials. We are so grateful for GLAM4GOOD’s rapid outpouring of support” Susan Franks, New York Presbyterian/Brooklyn
GLAM4GOOD also mobilized to provide longtime partner, New York Administration of Child Services, support via donations of PPE, new clothing and learning tools to thousands of vulnerable youth in their care. “We appreciate GLAM4GOOD’s commitment and ability to mobilize such tremendous support in the face of the ongoing crises. We are deeply appreciative of the toys, games and safety materials for the children and youth in the care of ACS” David A. Hansell, Commissioner NYC Administration of Child Services.
