Hey Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, Meet One Of Your Most Inspiring Fans

This is the artist that Joe Jonas just called his hero.

Dan Makar, otherwise known as Dan The Man, is an inspirational 41 year old painter with Down Syndrome. Dan has been painting unique pop portraits of his favorite celebrities for over 15 years and is on a mission to prove, not only to himself but the world at large, that although he has Down Syndrome, it does not have him!
Dan The Man’s inspiring story will soon to be the subject of a documentary called DAN THE MAN THE ARTIST and he’s about to have his first art show in New York.  The solo exhibition entitled, Dan the Man the Artist, spotlights his new portraits, works on canvas featuring stars like Taylor Swift, Joe Jonas, and Demi Lovato, to name a few. Works will be sold and auctioned with proceeds going to benefit charities supporting special needs and art therapy and to help fund Dan’s future art endeavors including his dream of having his own studio.

Painting is Dan The Man’s favorite thing to do beside bowling and spending time with his fiancé Annie.  His brother, Director Matthew Makar, says art has been Dan’s passion but it’s also been therapeutic for his brother.

He paints as a form of therapy. It helps him to relax, and calm down from the stresses of life.

Dan told GLAM4GOOD his favorite star to paint is Selena Gomez but Joe Jonas comes in at a strong second.  Jonas recently took to twitter to give Dan The Man a shout out and help promote the upcoming documentary on his life. GLAM4GOOD thinks Taylor and and Selena SHOULD follow suit. There’s nothing not to love about Dan The Man and his mission to use art to bring awareness to Down Syndrome.
