Michelle Obama isn’t just serving up amazing style moments while on her European tour. She also made time to surprise pregnant military spouses and active duty servicewomen at a U.S. military base in Vicenza, Italy.
The first lady, who was joined by her daughters Malia and Sasha, pulled off the amazing baby shower with the help of Operation Shower, a non-profit organization that provides baby showers for military families, and Glam4Good, a movement creating positive social change through style. Not only did the ladies get showered with baby essentials, but Mrs. Obama wanted to make sure they were pampered as well.
Thanks to a slew of generous donations from companies including Tommy Hilfiger, H&M, Liz Lang, Alexis Bittar, Dior, and Pangea Organics, just to name a few, each woman got a mini shopping spree styled by Glam4Good founder Mary Alice Stephenson, handbag designer Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger and beauty expert Jessica Richards. The moms-to-be got decked out in stylish maternity clothes, jewelry, sunglasses, beauty products and more.
“The moms were so happy they were in tears, but as soon as they saw all the glamorous accessories, clothing and beauty products it was shop-till-you-drop!” Stephenson told The Huffington Post. “Mrs. Obama even jumped in with a fashion tip or two. How cool is that!”
